Frank Gommers founded Gommers Customs Consultants BV in 2007. Following his career with the customs authorities and in senior manager capacity at Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, he decided to start his own firm. Gommers Customs Consultants is specialized in assisting and advising companies dealing with all International Trade and Customs related issues.

We have a broad experience on International Trade and Customs areas of law and assist and advise a large number of companies such as importers, exporters, manufacturers, logistical service providers etc.

In general, our services focus on two areas:

  • Minimizing the duty payment and assisting companies during the implementation of customs procedures combined with simplified procedures to minimize the customs' interference in import, warehousing, manufacturing, transport and export.
  • Assisting companies in safeguarding compliance with international trade thus minimizing the risk of claims or even withdrawal of customs authorizations.

Since beginning of 2009, we are located in a new office building in Eindhoven, the high-tech capitol of Europe.

EU - South Korea Free Trade

The Counsel has given approval to an agreement with South Korea on Free Trade.  It is likely to be signed on October 6, 2010 and the provisional application is foreseen at July 1, 2011.

Report open ECS Shipments

As of September 1, 2010 Dutch customs will void export declarations when they are not confirmed for exit.  This will lead to serious VAT issues when not addressed correctly

European EMCS roll out per April 1, 2010
The transport of excise goods for which no excise are paid yet will be covered by an electronic transport declaration (via the Excise Movement Control System; EMCS) instead of a paper AAD (Administrative Accompanying Document).
